Bicycle Boarding(Express)

Bicycles and passengers in the same compartment: Bicycles can be brought into the compartment without folding or packing.

Passenger Regulations
  1. Only conventional bicycles and electric-assist bicycles not using lead-acid batteries are permitted on board.
  2. Electric-assist bicycles must have the battery removed or the power turned off before boarding. The battery must not be reinstalled, nor may the power be turned on, until after exiting the station.
  3. Electric bicycles, tandem bicycles, and modified bicycles are not eligible for this service.

  • For purchases of fewer than 10 tickets, please use “Personal Booking” to complete the purchase
  • For purchases of 10 tickets or more, please use “Group Booking” to complete the purchase.
  • Ticket Information
    1. Bicycle boarding tickets are only available together with a passenger ticket and cannot be purchased separately.
    2. Passenger fares are calculated according to the train type and passenger category, while bicycle fares are charged at 50% of the full fare for the train type.
    3. Ticket purchases are available for both individual passengers and group travelers. Tickets may be reserved online or purchased at station ticket counters, with ticket collection available at convenience stores .
    4. Bicycle boarding on express trains is subject to a limited-distance ticketing policy, with allocation arranged as follows:
      (1) More than 7 days before the travel date: limited to journeys of 75 km or longer (inclusive of the travel date).
      (2) From 7 to more than 6 days before the travel date: limited to journeys of 70 km or longer (inclusive of the travel date).
      (3) From 6 to more than 5 days before the travel date: limited to journeys of 60 km or longer (inclusive of the travel date)
      (4) From 5 to more than 4 days before the travel date: limited to journeys of 50 km or longer (inclusive of the travel date).
      (5) Within 4 days of the travel date: no distance restrictions apply.
      (6) If the remaining distance after ticket allocation is below the minimum distance requirement, the system may sell remaining bicycle
        boarding tickets without being restricted by the advance booking period.
    Fare and Fees
    1. Passenger fares are calculated according to the train type and passenger category.
    2. Bicycle fares are uniformly charged at 50% of the full fare for the train type.

    Daily Booking Hours Ticket reservations are available 24 hours a day. Ticket reservations are available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Booking Restrictions
    1. Each passenger is limited to purchasing 9 tickets per day.
    2. The number of passengers must match the number of bicycles, and bicycle boarding tickets cannot be purchased separately.
    1. Minimum group requirement: 10 passengers and 10 bicycles.
    2. The number of passengers may exceed the number of bicycles. For group tickets, the number of passengers is greater than the number of bicycles, the extra passengers will be assigned seats in regular passenger carriages. If there are not enough seats in the regular passenger carriages, group ticket reservations cannot be accommodated.
    Booking Period
    1. Ticket reservations open four weeks (28 days) before the travel date.
    2. On Fridays, passengers may make additional reservations for travel on the following Sunday up to four weeks in advance.
    3. Tickets for same-day travel must be booked at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
    1. Ticket reservations are available from three months to 35 days prior to the travel date.
    2. Please use the group booking function on this website to make reservations.
    3. Any changes to the ticket reservation period will be announced by TR.
    Ticketing & Collection
    1. Payment must be completed by 24:00 the day after booking. For same-day tickets, payment must be made no later than 20 minutes before departure.
    2. Tickets must be collected within 2 days of booking. For same-day tickets, collection must be completed at least 10 minutes before departure; otherwise, the ticket will be considered uncollected.
    3. Tickets can be collected at station ticket counters, automatic ticket machines, or convenience stores. passengers are allowed to book online on the day of the trip. At the latest, please complete the booking 1 hour before the train departs.
    1. Payment and ticket collection must be completed within 5 days of booking, including the booking date.
    2. For group tickets, the number of passengers exceeds the number of bicycles, tickets for the bicycle boarding group will be issued only for as many passengers as there are bicycles, and the remaining passengers will receive regular group tickets.
    Ticket Exchange & Refund
    1. Passengers are allowed one free change of travel date, train type, or train number, which must be completed at least 30 minutes before departure. Refunds and any second change requests will be subject to TR’s ticket refund and handling fee regulations.
    2. Bicycle boarding tickets are priced separately for passenger fares and bicycle fares. For passenger convenience, information for both tickets is consolidated onto a single ticket. Refunds will also be processed separately for the passenger fare and bicycle fare, with a minimum handling fee of NT$20 per ticket.
    1. Within 10 days after ticket purchase (excluding the purchase date), passengers may rebook a new train through the system and then visit a station counter with the payment slip and the original ticket to process the change of travel.
      ※ Changes must be made simultaneously for both the
        passenger and the bicycle and are limited to one time
        only.
    2. The change must be processed no later than 1 hour before the scheduled departure time; late requests will not be accepted.
    3. Refund handling fees for bicycle boarding group tickets are charged in stages based on the date of refund. However, the handling fee for each bicycle boarding ticket shall not be less than NT$40, while the handling fee for each regular group ticket shall not be less than NT$20.
    4. After a partial refund, the remaining number of passengers and bicycles must not fall below the minimum group requirement. If the number is reduced to fewer than 10 passengers and 10 bicycles, only a full refund may be processed.
    Ticket Information The ticket format is the same as a regular ticket, with the words “兩鐵” printed on the ticket. The fare includes the bicycle fee. Bicycle boarding group seat tickets, marked with “兩鐵” on the ticket.

    Notice
    1. Due to limited bicycle access facilities at some stations, passengers requiring guidance for station entry or exit are advised to call customer service hotline in advance: 0800-765-888 (landline only) or 02-21910096, so that the station can be informed to provide assistance.
    2. After collecting their tickets, passengers requiring guidance or other boarding assistance may register at the station service counter.
    3. Passengers traveling with bicycles are requested to board the designated carriages. If carriage assignments are adjusted, please follow the instructions of the train crew.
    4. Passengers traveling with bicycles are prohibited from riding on platforms or inside stations for safety reasons. During the journey, passengers are responsible for the care and supervision of their bicycles.
    5. During consecutive holidays of three days or more, unless otherwise with specified regulation by TR, the bicycle boarding group tickets and charter train services will not be accepted from the day before the holiday until the day after the holiday. Regular passenger services will continue as usual.
